FIXLOG ENTRIES:

2026.10.20 Fixed several interface issues/crashes, including negative moment reinforcement,
intermediate transverse stiffener locations, hinge locations, and additional node
locations input forms. Also fixed a numerical formatting issue (issue was only
with the display in the input forms, not with the input and processing of output),
and fixed an issue which was sometimes not allowing direct editing to occur.

************************************************************************************************
2026.10.7 Fixed problem with ASD ratings at splice locations where it was not always
using the section properties for the correct side of the splice and/or including
lateral bending stress in the rating factor calculation at the splice locations.
************************************************************************************************

*********************************************************************************************
2026.9.30 Fixed some issues related to hybrid factor Rh, load shedding factor Rb, and other
allowables anomalies. Fixed issue with interpolating 20th pt and 100th pt shears
in the constructibility of web during pouring tables. Improved stiffener integrity
           checking and associated warning messaging.

*******************************************************************************************

2026.3.20 Fixed issue for LAN client license files.
Added printer dialog to report generator.

2026.3.17 Fixed some issues with the DETAILED CALCS command. Now when this command is
used, the details will show up in the list of tables of girder rating output
(while in the project directory it is generated as CALCSi.TXT for girder i.)

2026.3.11 Fixed an issue where line girder live load deflections were not accounting for
stiffness from rolled shape cover plates or box girder bottom flange stiffeners
(which was resulting in somewhat higher live load deflections), and were not
accounting for composite regions specified with COMSPC (which was resulting in
           somewhat lower live load deflections.)

*************************************************************************************************
2026.3.5 CLASS I PROBLEM FIXED: UPDATE IS REQUIRED FOR LINE GIRDER PROJECTS

FIXED A PROBLEM THAT COULD OCCUR IN RECENT VERSIONS DURING LRFD LINE GIRDER RUNS:

WHEN ANY OF TFACT,TFACTT,TFACTF WERE USED TO MODIFY TRUCK LOADING, THE PROGRAM WAS
NOT APPLYING ANY TRUCK LOADING (I.E., WAS ONLY CONSIDERING LANE LOADING).

(THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR IN GIRDER SYSTEM PROJECTS.)
*************************************************************************************************

**************************************************************************************************
2026.3.4 LRFD projects now use the lower of the transverse stiffener spacing of either side of
the transverse stiffener when determining shear strength at transverse stiffener locations,
in accordance with AASHTO guidance in the variables definitions section of Chapter 6 LRFD.
(Prior to this change, the program was using the higher of the two spacings.)
**************************************************************************************************

2026.2.23 Cloud license server now uses port 443 instead of 5053.
This update will automatically configure the license on your computer.

2026.2.17 Fixed a problem that could occur with generating framing plan layout.
Multithreading in MDX Client has been improved, threads are now used
only for ticking clock and license status checking.

2026.1.26 Fixed an issue where input editor crashed after exiting a wizard.
MDXClient now creates a log file that tracks the history of events that occur
            during a session.

2026.1.6 MDXClient has been updated to native 64-bit to fix an incompatibility with a PDF library.
RLM has been updated to 64-bit and uses SSL port 443 to communicate with the license server.
Code signing certificate has been renewed.

**************************************************************************************************
2025.12.10 (1) Fixed an issue where the interface was rounding down the input command NMOD (when
given for specifying modular ratio) from one with decimals to just an integer, so that
it also works for NMOD values with decimals.
            (2) Fixed issues that were occurring with the A6 moment capacity tension flange limit
for factored strengths so that it is based on Rpt*Myt (instead of simply the tension
            flange yield.)
**************************************************************************************************

2025.12.4 Fixed an issue that was sometimes causing interface crashes.

2025.11.24 This update improves batch file load cases. The file LOADCASE.IN can now be
copied to the project directory and read from there, and batch file syntax
            is simpler:

            CD c:\program files (x86)
            CD MDX 2025
            CD MDX CLIENT
            SET PROJECT="c:\mdx\project1\project1.mdx"
            MDXCLIENT.EXE LOADCASE 1 %PROJECT%
            MDXCLIENT.EXE LOADCASE 2 %PROJECT%
            MDXCLIENT.EXE LOADCASE 3 %PROJECT%

2025.11.17 This update fixes a problem where line girder generation menus were inactive.

            ***************************************************************************
2025.10.31 (1) Fixed allowable stress determination issue at splices on haunched webs
where web splices were offset from flange splices.
            ***************************************************************************
            (2) Updated interface to work better during girder design generation projects,
and improved navigation among output tables when going from girder to girder.
Also fixed issue that could occur when .MDX files are renamed outside of the
            program.

2025.10.22 This update fixes a problem with the input editor which overwrote other
girder input files with the last girder input that was edited.

2025.9.29 This update adds "Activate MDX" to the Start menu.

2025.9.23 This update checks for the license in the program directory first, then the
user directory. This affects silent scripted installations using MSIEXEC.
If installing the MSI by script, the license file should be copied into the
program directory by script as well.

2025.9.22 We have migrated to a new cloud-based license server, this update will require
an activation code. Please contact support@mdxsoftware.com to request your
activation code. The interface has been optimized to provide unobstructed
access to the menu and listbox items, resulting in a more streamlined user
experience. The installer has been improved to no longer require administrator
access, making it easier to install and update for the end user. This update
lays the groundwork for future improvements.

2025.9.4 Reactivated the condition command OVERRIDE GIRDER SPACING RESTRICTION which
allows girder system analyses runs with defined lanes when girder spacing
is below 4.5' (which is the official limitation of the program to
avoid anomalies that may occur in live loading.)

2025.9.2 A file permission issue in the installer has been corrected.

2025.8.29 MDXClient has been updated to access new cloud server.

2025.8.16 The installer has been split into two separate projects.
MDX2025.EXE does not require administrative login, while
MDX2025.MSI requires an administrative login for scripted
installs. Both of these will update previous versions
	    without uninstalling first.

2025.8.11 MDXClient now produces pdf files for Plots.

2025.7.31 MDXClient now works with both administrator and per-user installations.

2025.7.23 Fixed issue with error message showing "login failed".

*****************************************************************************************
2025.7.13 Fixed problem with interpolating steel only analysis moments to tenth points
when using INTERMEDIATE BRACING NOT BOLTED FOR STEEL ANALYSIS. Fixed problem
with LFD line girder deflections when using WHEELD.
*****************************************************************************************

Fixed a problem running batch ratings.

******************************************************************************************
2025.3.24 Fixed a problem that could occur in girder system projects where girder 1 input
sometimes was overwriting other girder inputs. (You can see if this may have
occurred in your project(s) by checking that IGIRD i, where i is the girder
number, is correct for each girder input.)
******************************************************************************************

2025.3.14 Added missing icon to MDXClient installer.

****************************************************************************************
2025.3.11 Fixed a problem where lateral bending stresses were being amplified on the
last tenth point of girders in curved LRFD projects, which typically was only
an issue when integral abutments were involved. Also, improved the handling
of renamed projects to prevent crashes that could have occurred as a result of
renaming of projects without using "File:Save As".
****************************************************************************************

2025.2.28 A problem when running a project from MDX 2025 has been fixed.

2025.2.10 MDX 2025 is now available. Project paths were limited to 256 characters, now
can be up to 1000 characters. Graphics View has been restored. Licensing has
been updated to latest version. It is recommended to uninstall MDX 2024 to
            avoid confusion with MDX 2025.

2024.12.23 Fixed an issue with batch file runs for multiple load cases.

************************************************************************
2024.12.23 An additional fix for the settlement issue (which 2024.7.24 originally
addressed, but another follow up fix was needed to fix issue where
brace is only on one side of a support.)
************************************************************************

2024.11.15 Resolved an issue where cloud licenses were falsely identified as line
girder license rather than girder system license.

2024.10.18 Resolved an issue that could occur in the ratings tables when both HL93 and
permit trucks are being run (where if the factored stresses exceeded yield
for a noncompact section for one of these then the ratings tables would
always show that it exceeded yield for both of these whether or not this was
the case). A footnote was added to the ratings tables telling the user to
refer to the flange factored bending stress tables to look for this
indication. Also, fixed an issue in the interface where it was not saving
the output files into the .MDX file.

************************************************************************************
2024.10.6 Fixes some issues that could occur for LRFD allowable stresses at splice

issue (which 2024.7.24 originally addressed, but a followup was needed.)
************************************************************************************

2024.8.28 Cloud license behavior has been improved. Recommend updating
if cloud license has been inconsistent.

************************************************************************
2024.7.24 Fixed a problem with girder system analysis where settlement
effects in dead load analyses (with SE1-i and/or SE2-i) were
           not functioning properly.
************************************************************************

2024.5.16 Fixed crash when switching girders when viewing output table.

2024.4.15 Batch runs for loadcases have been improved. After installing this update, the
batch file that runs loadcases will appears as follows. You will need to copy
           LOADCASE.IN to "c:\users\xxx\APPDATA\Roaming\MDXSoftware\MDXClient" before running
           the batch file.

           - copy this to mdxrun.bat -
REM EDIT THE FOLLOWING TWO LINES
           SET DIRECTORY=C:\ProjectDirectory
           SET PROJECT="%DIRECTORY%\ProjectName.mdx"

           @ECHO OFF
           if not exist %DIRECTORY%\LOADCASE\ ( MD %DIRECTORY%\LOADCASE )
           ECHO Running %PROJECT%
           CALL :RUNLOADCASE 1
           CALL :RUNLOADCASE 2
           CALL :RUNLOADCASE 3
           exit /b

           :RUNLOADCASE
           ECHO Running loadcase %~1
           ECHO
           C:
           CD\
           CD Program Files (x86)
           CD MDX 2024
           CD MDX Client
           MDXCLIENT.EXE LOADCASE %~1 %PROJECT%
           CD %DIRECTORY%
           CD LOADCASE %~1
           TYPE LOADCASE%~1.OUT
           GOTO :EOF

the BNCLIP command was used to step down the web depth at supports
in LFD projects. Fixed an issue with torque influence surfaces on
overhangs that could result in the amplification of live load torque
near the end of the girder in medium and high resolution girder
           system models.
***************************************************************************

2023.10.27 Fixed a problem where girder outputs were not generating completely,
           and some related crashes.

2023.9.29 Fixed an issue where girder output wasn't being generated.
Added a new LFD girder condition INCLUDE LATERAL BENDING STRESSES
FOR OVERLOAD to provide the option to add lateral bending stresses
(100%) to factored overload stresses. (Whether or not this condition
is used, the allowable stresses for overload checking still consider
           lateral bending stresses from curvature.)

being included in composite deflections in LRFD line girder projects (problem only
occurred with composite deflections, not forces. Fixed issue with applying shear
correction factors determined by the program to lane fractions. Added DETAILED CALCS
report to the girder rating output menu listings. Also, added description labels to
the DETAILED CALCS FOR LANES FRACTIONS report to show when only one wheel fits in a
lever rule context (however, this didn't affect lanes fraction calculations as these
were being correctly determined, but this was not described clearly in the report.)

***************************************************************************

*************************************************************************************
2023.1.12 - Fixed a problem with maximum bending performance ratios for permit trucks
that were being shown in the Max Performance Ratio summary where it was instead
showing those for design trucks if the ratio was greater than for permit trucks
in LRFD projects. (The tables where all the performance ratios are shown for the
various effects were unaffected.) Also, fixed an issue where upon reviewing the
layout of parallel/concentric projects in the menu, the staggered intermediate brace
spacings that had previously been defined might be removed, leaving only the
nonstaggered bracing input (BR-1).

********************************************************************************
2022.11.17
CLASS I PROBLEM FIXED: UPDATE IS REQUIRED FOR PLATE AND ECCENTRIC BEAM MODEL RUNS

A potentially significant problem has just been fixed that had recently been
occurring with the generation of plate and eccentric beam (peb) models.
The symptoms could either be slight or obvious in the results. This problem
could have affected peb models run with build version numbers between 2022.9.1
to 2022.11.12. (This problem was accidentally introduced as a result of a recently
added command to the program, STRNODEX, and was sometimes interfering
with the generation of peb models that didn't even have stringers.)
[While the issue is not likely to have affected grid model runs, we nevertheless
highly recommend updating your installation to prevent encountering this problem
in case you were to switch from the grid model to the peb model while running any
version of the program between the build dates (9/1/22-11/12/22).]
********************************************************************************

target directory.

*********************************************************************************
2022.11.11
(1) Improved the shear determination routines for girder system projects to avoid
anomolies that could sometimes occur when wheels are being located close to shear
influence surface discontinuities. (2) fixed an LFD allowable stress problem that
had recently been occurring in incremental factored bending stress output.
